I realize that this is supposed to be a post about something else, but thank goodness for MAC Lipglasses.
They’ve been keeping me company for so many years, and through so many memories…
When I think about all the horrible first dates MAC Spite and I sat through with people we met on Craigslist (this was in the late ’90s before the words, “Craigslist” and “Killer,” appeared in the title of a Lifetime TV movie), I can’t even begin to roll my eyes far back enough in my head.
And it wasn’t just MAC Spite. There was also Nymphette (which helped me move into my first real “grownup” apartment), Lychee Luxe (accompanied me to Europe in 2005) and EvRev (which showed me around Toronto in 2011), among others.
The MAC Lipglasses and I roll deep.
Which is why you have to promise not to tell them I’ve been testing Hush, one of the Liquid Lips Lip Lacquers from Gorgeous Cosmetics.
It would just hurt them too much to hear that I’ve strayed.
In my defense, they look, feel and last almost exactly like a Lipglass. Same shiny finish, sticky texture and fantastic wear time (they’ll manage half a day between meals).
You’ll find Hush stashed away in the pockets of my skinny jeans on many days when I’m in the mood for neutral lips. Most of the time, I’ll apply just a single shiny layer with the doe-foot applicator…like right after a cup o’ tea or Crab Bites from Cheesecake Factory (PMS cravings much?). It’s enough to completely cover my pigmented lips with creamy, cool pink color.
But it’s not all cake and champagne…
Hush costs a chunk more than a Lipglass ($25 for a 0.25-ounce tube versus $15 for a 0.17-ounce MAC Lipglass), and I miss MAC’s comforting vanilla flavor and scent (Hush is unscented and unflavored).
Don’t tell anyone (Hush…), but I still like it, and I think you might, too.
PRICE: $25 for a 0.25-ounce tube (available in seven other shades)
AVAILABILITY: Available now in the U.S. at Nordstrom stores and online
MAKEUP AND BEAUTY BLOG RATING: B+ (Dear Gorgeous Cosmetics, if you’re reading this, please knock $10 off the price)
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. Is there a better show for numbing your brain than Snooki & JWOWW? I’m watching it now and feel sufficiently numbed… 🙂
How was your day?

I don’t care for lipglosses, and you lost me when you said ‘same sticky texture’, but this colour is beautiful on you. Can you tell me which foundation you are wearing on that pic? Your skin is flawless!

Come to Australia and do a bit of makeup shopping.
You’d scream in horror.
Tho, props to Gorgeous for keeping their price points the same in both the US and Australia 🙂

This is a great look for you! I only have one MAC lipglass but it’s awesome. 🙂

Hmmmm not sure I like this color… surprising for me and pink lip gloss! It’s got such a white base. Is that because you’re dark? Or is it the color?
artemis says
well, the color in the tube looks darker so it depends on your skintone the most. so if you’re fair or light medium i’d say it won’t look pale, just light or even light medium so you shouldn’t worry in that case.
I’d love it if i had a lipgloss that looked as pale against my skin(or lipstick-even better..and at a cheaper price, hehe) but that’s veryyyy rare because i’m kinda like nc15 so it would have to be almost white in the tube to be the same on me. it would also have to be moisturising and not settle too much in my lip lines and lip flakes(x_X). lipstick is a bit better in that aspect…
i love how this looks on karen 😀
