Bad beauty habits. You know I’ve had my share, like nail nibbling, pimple popping and rubbing at my eyes, and I’ve successfully kicked most of them to the goldarn curb. But there’s one beauty habit I don’t ever plan to break…

I hoard neutral eyeshadow palettes, and I don’t ever plan to stop! :)

I think of them as timeless and always in style, like ocular trench coats, and they’re wearable any time of year. And, baby girl, when the colors are cruelty-free, gorgeous shades of green, brown, peach and beige, like the eight shimmery shadows gracing the new Josie Maran Eye Love You Too Palette ($42), it’s ON!

JM recently launched this new palette of powder shadows at Sephora stores and online. Soft like velvet and smooth against the skin, the textures feel similar to the powder shadows in Josie’s Wonder Powder Palette, and I love the way they look. The levels of pigment vary from sheer to medium across the line, with multi-dimensional finishes that appear shimmery, yet not overly frosty.

Argan Eyes Are Smiling

The eyeshadows in the Eye Love You Too palette are infused with Argan oil, an antioxidant-rich oil believed to calm and soothe troubled skin. And, like all of Josie’s makeup, it’s free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and phthalates, too.

Unfortunately, at $42, it’s a little on the expensive side, but that breaks down to about $5.25 per shadow, which isn’t all that bad if you look at it that way.

  2. Linda says:

I use a Josie Maran moisturizer- I didn’t even know about the make up- does it last? With/without primer?

  3. Kim says:

I love it when you break it down to the per shadow cost – it looks so much better that way! :) I’m not tempted, though, because I’m stuck on that darn Givenchy and visions of orange.

Oh, btw, I tried out the 30 Day Shred yesterday (straight to Level 3, because I’m impatient). I think it’s going to be good paired with 40 minutes or so on the treadmill. I also got the Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism and will give that a go tonight. Thanks, as always, for the good makeup AND workout DVD recs. :)

That palette is gorgeous! And cost per shadow is good too because I think you would actually use them all unlike some palettes

Ooh! Thank you so much for showing and swatching! I’ve been stalking this palette since it hit Sephora.com and am still on the fence, especially since I just bought Josie’s Eye Love You palette (which is also amazing). This may tip me over into Yesland.

    Karen, Karen, Karen,
I’m waiting for you to compare the new Nyx Nude on Nude palette (with 20 shadows and 10 lip colours) with the Naked Palette. I remember you doing a faceoff with the old square nude and nude and it was one of the best comparison pieces I’d read.
More please, and hello to Tabs!

Ever since the addition of The Naked Palette into my life, I’ve felt guilty about looking at any other palettes, because I truly don’t -need- them.. Le siiiigh… Lol
Maybe I should travel more to justify the palettes, yeah? :D

So so pretty… I am a neutral-holic, yes, although lack of cash flow keeps me from buying any more palettes. For now!

  22. Some great and interesting colours here, with a really illuminating metallic sheen! They would look gorgeous when recreating a more earthy toned alternative to the smoky eye.
