This luxe lovely is already dressed for the holidays. 🙂 Bare Escentuals bareMinerals loose shadow fans, the new limited edition Oh La Luxe holiday kit, available now at Sephora stores and also online ($79), wouldn’t even need wrapping paper to look good under the tree.
The kit comes with…
- 9 loose Eyecolors
- 1 loose Liner Shadow
- 3 loose Blushes
- 2 All Over Face Colors
- The snazzy two-tiered zippered makeup bag (CUTE!)
Top row, Eyecolor from the left: Amour, Clover, Queen Phyllis Celestine, Exotic Victoria; bottom row: Kir Royale, Cable Car, Gossip, Montana and Wild Jungle
Top row, Blush from the left: Pearl Blossom, Vintage Peach and Bosh; Bottom row, Over Face Color: Bare Radiance and Faux Tan
I’ll post swatches of these soon, but let me know what you think. The price ($79) works out to about $5 per piece, including the carrying case. Doesn’t seem bad.
And how do you feel about bareMinerals’ loose powders? I like many of their colors and how much pigment they have, but whenever I use them I always make a mess (which may say more about me than the powders).
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

I absolutely love BE eye and cheek products, so I’m really looking forward to your reivew. I find that case so useful, especially as a makeup case for a weekend getaway or something! I’m hoping to eventually review this set as well!
Joyce says
I don’t like loose shadows in general because of the fallouts. You can foil them by applying them wet or with a mixing medium or even Mac fix+ to control the fallouts, but I don’t like working “extra” to make a product work because I’m lazy, but I will still wait for your swatch post because I love seeing eyeshadow swatches. =)

loose powders and I aren’t the best of friends, but this set looks gorgeous.

I have a bag exactly like that by Sonia Kashuk and the layers are awesome! The top section has a plasticy type thing covering the brushes though. It’s not this same print but it’s this bag http://soniakashuk.com/sk-MTA_prod.php?sk=318. Super awesome for travel.
Emmaline says
I have that SK bag in a different print! I love it! It carries so much, not to mention its so cute. Karen, you must find this bag and buy it! Life changing!
Emmaline says
I have never used BE but am considering this might be a nice kit to try out their line. Looking foward to your review! Plus Sephora usually puts them on sale after the holidays!
Heidi says
I gave up on loose powders ages ago (too messy), but one of the shadows I’ve held onto and still use is Celestine. It is SUCH a gorgeous shade. Lights up the whole eye area. And, that bag looks pretty great, too.
Vonvon says
It’s really worth it and good way o try out different items!
Nice sets they have for the holidays!
Makeupandbeautyjunkie says
I have been thinking about trying BE face powder, can’t wait to read your review.
Jaymie says
I have some BE eyeshadows. The more neutral and subtle colors lasting power is good but the brighter colors like Azure when freshly applied looked beautiful but the color tended to fade on me in less than an hour! And that’s even with a primer (Two Face Shadow Insurance)!!
Marina says
What an awesome set, there are quite a few shades that I love.
Karen says
Hi Marina! Hope you had a great weekend. 🙂
Sonya says
Can’t wait for swatches! I’ve not yet tried BE loose eyeshadows (though I’ve been meaning to!), so I’m curious for your review.
Karen says
I’ll post it later this week. The swatches are up, though. 🙂
Tori says
AH! they’re beautiful!
Karen says
Gorgeous, yeah?
Marian says
I really LOVE Bare Minerals. I don’t mind the loose powders. I’ve learned to work with them without making a mess. This years Holiday items look wonderful! Wish I could splurge on one of them but no can do : (
Karen says
What are your favorite things form the line, Marian?
Swatch And Learn says
I’ve never tried anything from this brand, but I’ve heard a lot of great things about their products. Really curious to see your swatches of these, Karen. Looks like there are a lot of easy-to-wear shades.
Karen says
They’ve got some nice things! Are you a big lash mascara kind of girl? They’re Buxom Amplified is really great!
Amanda says
Oooh, I’ve been wondering about this kit. The colors look great and it sounds like a good deal. Can’t wait to see the swatches. It may have to go on my Christmas wish list!
Karen says
I put the swatches up yesterday! I hope you like ’em. 🙂
Styrch says
Loose color always looks so luxurious to me. There’s something mystical about it that puts the fun back in makeup. 🙂 I don’t mind making a mess with loose shadows or pigments because the result is usually gorgeous. And cleanup isn’t too bad. But I’ll be the first to admit it is easier to work with loose blushes than loose eye shadows. I always use a base with the shadows, which helps so much. I can’t wait to read your review!
Karen says
Hi Styrch,
What’s your fave base to use with your loose shadows?
Happy Monday!
Cindy G says
Wow, these look beautiful!
Karen says
Aren’t they, though? 🙂
Christy says
They are pretty and seem like a good value. However, I am not a fan of loose eye shadows. Too messy and end up not being so great a value because the amount of product you lose!
Karen says
I hear ya. Some people love ’em, though. BE seems to have a really dedicated fan base!
Nina says
five bucks for BE/BM anything is an awesome price! im almost tempted to buy the set, keep the bag for myself and distribute the things inside it for christmas presents/stocking stuffers!
Karen says
Hee, hee, that would actually be a great idea! I’ve done that before with beauty blockbuster sets. 🙂
Nina says
i do it almost every year! 🙂
