Could you be anymore photogenic, Oahu? It’s almost unfair how good you look first thing in the morning.
On my walk this morning, along with learning that the resort has sunrise yoga in the morning (I’m going tomorrow to get my downward dog on in the sand), I found out that *all* product shots should be product shots in paradise.
Juara Candlenuit Beauty Creme is a super rich body cream that smells like citrus and plumeria.
I got a big jar in a SpaceNK sampler and will probably spring for a full-size one when I get home.
The Pixi Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths smell tropical, too. Like jasmine.
I only brought one tube of waterproof mascara with me (MAC In Extra Dimension Waterproof) and these wipes take it off completely.
Yes, I’m usually the freak who brings multiple mascara tubes on trips, but not this time! Generally, I think I did pretty well resisting the temptation to overpack, but I may or may not have ended up bringing an extra pan of glitter shadow with me… Whoopsie!
Oh, and my jam for the past couple days has been Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense.
It has a super casual dewy finish (but it’s not glittery), and I’m wearing it to the pool today.
When I got back to the room after my morning walk this morning, I went ham on the breakfast spread. OMG, I forgot how unreal the fruit is here. The papaya is nothing like we get in California because it gets to ripen here on the tree, and don’t get me started about the lychees.
Mmm, the lychees… They’re missing from the table spread because my mom and I ate the entire bag in the middle of the night last night.
Do you like lychee? How about papaya? What’s your favorite tropical fruit?
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

Yum those fruits sound amazing. My 2 favorite fruits are mango and watermelon. Next time you go to Hawaii I am hiding in your suitcase!

Looks like you’re getting your pan de sal on, too!
The Farmers Market pineapple here are outstanding as well (my favorite) and I think I did eat an entire bag of fresh lychees that a co-worker brought to work the other day. Enjoy the rest of your stay!
We’re happy to be here. 🙂

Oh my gosh, Karen!! What an absolute dreamland. Fresh fruit is my favourite thing about travelling–I just got back from China, and I had the most amazing peaches, nectarines, and strawberries while I was there! The strawberries were fresh off of the (organic) bush, and so ripe that they were practically purple. SO good!

Whoa, I am a huge papaya fan ! You get them in really big supermarkets in town, smaller ones don’t have such delicacies. 😉 And wonderful photos btw! I am planning a trip with my bf – we’re hoping to get some sun in Biarritz maybe, in France! Looks amazing in pics and apparently you can learn to do surfing there. 🙂

Live Hawaiian papaya and the mangos and the pineapple guava. OMG. And the garlic shrimp. Oh wait. That’s not a fruit. But still. Aloha!

Back when I was born, my aunt and uncle were stationed in Hawaii for a few years. They said you never quite get bored of the fruit, warmth, and sunshine, especially if you grew up in New York! I’ve never gotten to go, myself, but I do love lychee.
I can never believe just how much hair Connor Claire has! It’s just too cute with her big brown eyes. Hope you guys all have lots of fun! The sunrise yoga looks fantastic.

Aloha Karen! Hope you and your ohana enjoy your time on the islands!

Oh, Lychee! It is a treat we have around Christmas in our Family, simply because the good ones are pretty expensive here in Germany. But they are so delicious and nothing like the canned version we get here all year round.
Thank you for taking us with you to paradise, through pictures and your posts.

It’s so beautiful there. 🙂 I thought the same thing about all the fruit – just so much more delicious in Hawaii. I hope you guys are having a blast!

Oooh beautiful scenery. Well, I definitely have to go to Hawaii one day. Mmm yummy food you got there. Yum yum.
I’m not a big fan of tropical fruits actually! Ummm, I like pineapple though. That’s tropical right? I looove pineapple. I know pineapples are grown in Hawaii! 🙂 But papaya, passion fruit … etc, I don’t enjoy them. I think it’s because I didn’t grow up with them so the taste is too bland and savory for me.
Totally jeally of your gorgeous resort and trip. What a lovely place 🙂

Gah, now I’m dying to taste Hawaiian fruit! I’ve heard similar things from Indian friends about Indian mangoes. They say mangoes are amazing in India.

Congrats on your streamlined makeup packing! ? Such a fab effort. Turns out that I brought way too much to London, and I thought I’d done really well! Not buying more would help too though ?.
Hope you’re having a fabulous time Karen! It looks so beautiful there ??.

Aloha and welcome to Oahu! I’ve enjoyed following your blog for several years. What you may not know is that the Longs Drugstores here are owned by CVS. I recall that you like the Frida Kahlo lipsticks and nail polishes. These can be found in the Mini stands set up near the cash registers. Happy hunting,
