- CORRECTION: 1/13/2011 — The promotional pictures in the original post have been replaced with color corrected versions provided by Dolce & Gabbana.
Dolce & Gabbana released some color corrected pictures of their upcoming spring Secret Garden Collection today, and from these the items in the 12-piece launch for eyes, lips and nails look softer and more muted than before.
This revised batch of promo pics now shows that the pops of pink and purple in the lipsticks and glosses aren’t as bright as I thought they were; the colors in the Smooth Eye Colour Quad in Eden ($59) appear more pastel now, and both the Smooth Eye Colour Duo in Romance ($36) and the Intense Nail Lacquer in Platinum ($20) appear to contain a color more like gray than green.
Take a gander at the revised pictures (everything looks more delicate and softer), which I’m told are more color accurate than the ones they sent before, and let me know what ya think.

Holy cripes; some of the differences are huge! I’m all for colour, but I have to admit – the original promo images were pretty intimidating. I’m loving the look of the collection now, though! Can’t wait to read more later on 🙂

Hmmm I still love the Eden palette and the lipsticks. But, I am sad about the lip glosses ( especially Bon Bon)

I’m glad because now i’m not lemming anything!
Alisha says
I’m not too keen on the Eden palette as i feel the pastel colours would not suit my skin tone but I like the look of the lippy in Love! still not sure about the Nail Lacquer though! xx

Now loving the LOVE lipstick! I still want to try the Lilac pencil.

I like this a lot more! But they are never the color in the picture anyways!
Nina says
so far, i still want the eyeshadow duo PLUS the lilac eyeliner!
Amber says
Oh boy, someone really messed up the white balance the first time! These actually look like colors I could wear.
Makeup Morsels says
ohh wow, these look very different now. In a way, I’m slightly disappointed because I loved how the lipsticks looked before they were color corrected. On the other hand, I think I can get behind pastels for spring.

LOVE the eye colour duo in Romance! Karen do you know where can I find the Dolce & Gabbana makeup line in Latin America?
Jenocampo says
Overall very nice but I wish Bon Bon would have been a more brighter violet as per the 1st pics, everything else is lovely!

Ooooh, I’m disappointed! I was really loving the look of the nail polish before! Of course it’s a much closer match to its name now, but I really liked the bolder colors!

heheh the quad looks like flowers in a spring garden. Everything is so cheerful for this spring, I think I need to push myself out of my winter dreariness.

Hmmm, I liked more the “old” colors!! These look drab in comparison, something an oldish aunt could wear…
Kim says
Well, that Eden quad is certainly toned down. Not that it’s a negative, but I can see people who were really excited about the bright pink and green feeling a bit let down. I personally think it looks more wearable now, but I’m one of those scared-of-bright-colors people. 🙂
Btw, your photo of the Secret Garden is beautiful. If I had those stairs in my yard, I’d walk up and down them 100 times per day!
Amanda says
I liked the “brighter” colors in the quad. Less wearable….true, but more fun.

Bon Bon looks amazing. The D&G packaging is similar to Dior and I love their lipglosses as they offer great colour and staying-power. May give this a go and see what comes out on top!
The Romance eyeshadow duo are the perfect combination to create a smokey eye. I apply white in the corner of my eye to make them stand out and blend into dark on the outermost corner…never fails.
