Today after lunch I swung by Sephora to stock up on a few essentials, namely Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation and Benefit Instant Brow (what I’ve been using to fill in my brows), and since I was already there, I figured I’d get some long overdue swatches, too.
Benefit’s boxed blushes ($28 each) come in eight colors. Actually, some are referred to as face powders, and others as blushes. Here are swatches of seven of them (for reference, I’m an NC 35). Thrrob, a flushed light pink, is the one that’s missing. One of the sales associates at Sephora today had said that she thought it was discontinued. Hmm… I’ll check with Benefit and will let you know what I find out.

Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. Well, looks like we got Monday out of the way. That’s always a good thing. 🙂
Antonia at Swedish Love Affair says
Great swatches! I really like Coralista.
Karen says
That’s one of my faves for summer, Antonia!
dani@callitbeauty says
bella bamba & coralista are on my “to buy” list 🙂
Karen says
Those are two great colors! You’ll be able to get a lot of use out of them.
Jessi (Lacquered, Painted, Polished) says
I want all of them except Hoola and Dallas (they would be too dark for me). I’ll probably wait until Sephora’s next F&F sale because I’ve spent enough on makeup recently. I should probably use some of it before I buy any more! Thanks for the swatches Karen! Do you take the pictures in the store because the lighting looks really nice… not like ugly fluorescent lights at all!
Karen says
Hi Jessi,
I usually go outside for better light. 🙂
Christy says
I know Bella Bamba is the latest craze, but Sugarbomb is still my favorite! 🙂
Karen says
Love that one too!
Chris25 says
10 may work for me. I always thought that it was too light…
Karen says
Me too! But if you mix the bronzer with the highlighter it ends up looking really pretty.
Agnes says
ooo! bella bamba and coralista were on my “want” list for the longest time haha thanks for swatching them all together, totally didnt know how pretty sugarbomb is and now that is added to my list as well hehe! thanks karen!
Karen says
You’re welcome!
raquel says
i was about to get Coralista (they had it as the 500pt bonus at sephora in Canada for those of you wondering), and i do own deep throat and orgasm by NARS so i hesitated but it does have a pretty sheen!
i also really like sugarbomb
Karen says
I love Sugarbomb, too. I find it works with several different lip/blush shades. 🙂
gio says
Thanks for the swatches! Coralista and Bella Bamba are on my wishlist, they are gorgeous!
Karen says
Love those colors!
Debbie says
Did the Georgia Peach shade get discontinued? That’s the one I have!
Karen says
I’m not sure, but I checked around the Benefit website and it’s no longer there. That’s usually a sign that it’s been discontinued. It’s no longer on Sephora’s site either. I did check the Ulta site and it’s still available. If you really love it then you might want to think about stocking up. Here’s a link:

Chelsie says
As far as I know, Thrrrob has not been discontinued. You can still buy it on Benefit’s website (www.benefitcosmetics.com) and it’s listed in their Spring 2011 catalog.
Karen says
Yup, I figured as much. I called the boutique and they said they don’t think it’s going to be discontinued any time soon. I’m still waiting for official word from the company!
Nina says
thank you for swatching, karen! makes me want more! 🙂
Karen says
You’re welcome, Nina! I feel you re: wanting more! I realized yesterday that 10 needs to get into my life, stat. 🙂
Nina says
i agree w/ you! STAT!
Karen says
I’ve kinda ignored it because I always assumed it would be too light but once you mix the colors together, OOOH BABY!
Vijaya says
I’ve been lusting after Bella Bamba for a long while. =[
Karen says
It’s a great lil’ blush! Perfect for spring/summer.
Appu says
Thanks for the swatches! I have Sugarbomb so, I am still contemplating whether or not to buy Coralista. They look too similar when applied.
Sara flemmIng says
Thrrrob and Georgia have both been discontinued in canada. So has bad gal blue! Ad the kitten powders! And all the skin care in preparation for the new line!
Sara flemmIng says
The benefit rep told me, so I know it’s true! They have already been pulled off shelves in canada! Or at least Halifax!
Karen says
Cool, thanks Sara!
Meghan says
So pretty!! 🙂
Karen says
Which one’s your fave?
Trisha says
Fancy! They look warm and nice on your skin.
Karen says
Fancy indeed. 🙂

Good enough to eat, LOL!
lexi says
I tried Dallas once and it didn’t have any staying power on me, sadly. I do want to check out Bella Bomba – so pretty!
I do have Hoola – I should really play with that one.
Karen says
That’s too bad. Dallas is one of my faves!
Hoola is great, especially for contouring. 🙂
Joy says
Georgia is still for sale on HSN.com.
I have three of these [actually six, since one of them is the box from several years ago with Dandelion, Hoola & Dallas] and though they’re pricey, they last forever. Hoola is perfect for contouring,
Karen says
Thanks for the heads up, Joy!
Carrie says
I have all of these and I love each one. Dallas is probably my favorite. I’ve never found another blush quite like it. They’re a little expensive, but they’re so pretty and really do last forever. There was a long period of time when the only blushes I used were Dandelion, Georgia and Dallas. I wore them every day to work and barely made a dent in any of them.
Karen says
They do last a long time. I’ve had my box of Dallas for years and have barely made a dent in it!
Amy says
I’m finishing my 2nd box of Dallas- I use it as a bronzer. I’m fair, brown hair, brown eyes, and it gives me the most natural sun-kissed look. I find Hoola to be too brown and “dirty”. I know Dallas looks dark, but it really isn’t- it looks very natural and gives you a nice “day out in the sun” glow. Another thing I really like about Dallas is that it has less shimmer than the others (excluding Hoola). There’s still a bit, but really just the perfect amount. If you want a bit more pink, top it off with Bobbi Brown’s Pale Pink on the apples of your cheeks- very pretty.
Karen says
Thanks for the tips, Amy! I have a pale buddy who swears by Dallas too. Maybe I’ll get her Bobbi’s blush for her bday…
