I’m counting down the seconds to date night tonight with El Hub. We’re going to watch the new Pixar movie, Inside Out, which I’m very excited about because I’ve read great reviews. Plus it takes place in the San Francisco…Bay Area represent! 🙂
I was in the mood to wear a little makeup tonight, but I wasn’t in the mood to think too hard (such is the case most Fridays), so I fell back on a classic combo of neutral MAC Eye Shadows from the permanent line that I always like wearing — Saddle and Wedge on my lids and in the crease, Brun and Mulch in the outer corners, Ricepaper to highlight the inner corners and brows, and Feline Kohl on my water lines.
I smudged everything except Ricepaper under the lash lines, and then applied layer upon layer of Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara.
For my cheeks, I went with a couple more of my MAC permanent product faves — Cantaloupe Blush on the apples and Cream Colour Base in Hush on my upper cheekbones.
I wanted to wear something neutral on my lips, but I couldn’t decide on a MAC lipstick, so I went with NARS Satin Lip Pencil in Isola Bella instead, which I topped with MAC Plushglass in Nice Buzz.
I also did the same Dior Nude Air Foundation/NARS Radiant Concealer/MAC Mineralize Skinfinish/Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz drill I’ve been doing a lot lately.
Sometimes you just gotta go with the classics. 🙂
I hope you have a wonderful Friday night, my friend, whatever you’re up to! If you aren’t heading to the movies, I promise to eat extra popcorn for ya.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen
P.S. I love Pixar.

You look beautiful as usual, Karen! Enjoy your movie date! I heard good things about that movie too even though I’m not much for Pixar/animated flicks. The other movie out this weekend that I think looks good is called “Dope”. It’s about these high school kids who love 90s hip hop. I want to see it just for the wardrobe!

AHHHH! Your eyes look so gorgeous. Ricepaper is a really nice highlight!

I’ve been following you for a little over a year now and this is the first time I’ve ever commented, but I just had to say you look gorgeous (as always)! I love how understated and simple your jewelry is. Who are the pieces by?
Rhia says

Simple and beautiful! I love looks like that…minimal products that look like a million bucks 🙂 Mr and I had a date night too….went to see Jurassic World. Inside Out is on the list too with the kiddos 🙂 Seeing your makeup reminds me to pick up another bottle of Face and Body…love how simple it is to use. I always love the looks you post…you should do a few tutorials this summer 🙂

Gorgeous makeup. You’re skin looks so luminous. What foundation are you wearing or is that the MAC lush you’re using?
Jennifer says
Love the directions on the photo, it’s so much easier for me to follow along that way.
Your hair is looking really fabulous, the highlights are great.
Mr. 12 and I went to see Pitch Perfect II Friday night. I thought the first one was a lot better but that’s usually the case, in my opinion.
Mr. 12 went to see Inside Out yesterday with friends. He gave it a 7 on a scale of 1-10.

Loved Inside Out! I saw it in the city, and it was so fun to be in a room full of San Franciscans laughing at all the in-jokes.

Such a lovely look! You can’t go wrong with the classics – and I often feel that way on Friday nights too. 🙂 That nude lip is so pretty!

OMG!!! You look stunning Karen! 🙂 One can never go wrong with the classics. Hope you had fun on your date night. Wish I had one such date with my husband too.. not with my 5 month old kiddo though 😉

So gorgeous!! I love using brown shadows like this!
I would love if you could share a behind the blog kinda post? Like your lighting, camera/settings, lens 🙂

You look lovely and I’m glad you liked the movie. I was a little “meh” after the previews but will probably catch it on netflix. The boys saw it with Grandma and liked it. They dragged me to San Andreas this weekend (also set mostly in SF). Now they don’t want to visit CA… and are still nervous about sharks, thanks to Jaws. Dumb movies are ruining my vacation plans. HAHA!
