‘Twas a slooow day for me today, so during a break I did one of the things I do best: cruise for makeup online! Here’s my current makeup lust list!
Makeup Lust List
1. The entire MAC Neo Sci Fi collection ($14-21)!!!
2. The entire Nars summer collection! ($22-$32) – Hot, hot and hot! I’ll have to “adopt” the Unconditional Love Duo Cream Eyeshadow and Supervixen Lipgloss, ASAP.
3. Hanae Mori Butterfly Eau Fraiche Fragrance ($65) – I’m dying to try this out. Sephora.com says it’s a fruity floral with notes of grapefruit, strawberry, black currant and jasmine, and although I haven’t sniffed it yet, my fragrance ESP tells me (hopes) it smells divine.
4. Guerlain Meteorites Powder Pearls in Pink Fresh ($51) – Ooh! I wish I had jewelry with pearls as big as these powder pearls.
5. Fresh Island Reverie Face Palette ($55) – Now, this is the palette I’d want to bring with me on a worldwide surf vacation. It includes three eyeshadows — Tiare (a sheer champagne), Plumeria (a sheer shell-pink) and Rum (rich coffee) — a blush (Island Reverie, a coral shade) and a bronzer (called Treasure Cove).
6. Best of Becca Palette ($65) – Why do we always want what we can’t have? This palette must be the shizz because it’s always out of stock! In it Becca stuffed two eyeshadows (a golden bronze and a rich bronze shimmer), a cream blush called Turkish rose, a caramel lip/cheek cream and a peachy pearl lipgloss.
7. MAC PowerPoint Eye Pencil in Tealo and Forever Green ($13.50) – Wee! I love green eye pencils. I can’t get enough of green eye pencils, and I want to try these because they’re supposedly waterproof, too. I hope they’re nice and blendable like the Technakohls. Both of the greens that I want are out of stock on the MAC Web site (boo), but the Nordstrom site has ’em in stock (yay).
8. Yves Saint Laurent Pop Stick Blushes ($42) – Why do I imagine eating my makeup? Don’t the names of these three cream blushes sound delicious? — Vanilla/Chocolate, Strawberry/Raspberry and Peach/Blackcurrant.
9. Shiseido Sun Protection Compact Foundation SPF 34($32, $24.50 for refills) – Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen! I love products with SPF and hope that one of these six powder foundation shades (apply dry or with a wet sponge) suits my skin tone.
Tell me, girlfriend, whatchu got for me? Let me know what’s on your makeup lust list in the comments.
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,
Karen

OMG! I lurve it all!!!!
I really love the nars and shiseido! I have the day off tomorrow and a $50 sephora gc to spend! yay!!!
Holley says
I have the Hanae Mori perfume, and I absolutely love it! I would say that is smells a lot more like the vanilla and sandalwood notes most of the time than it does the more flowery soft tones. It’s very sexy and one I typically only use for dates since it’s such a rich smell. Let me know what you think though, I’m sure you’re going to love it too!
Karen B says
Those Yves Saint Laurent Pop Stick Blushes look delicious.
On my lust list: new mascara! I need a new mascara pronto but I’m undecided yet as to which one I’ll buy. And a bronzer to add a bit of glow.

Karrrraaaan you’re doing it again girl !!! All that looks amazing….the orange packaging looks abit crazy, but damn I’m getting my hands on a few bits.
The NARS colours are right up my street !!
rowena says
Ooh karen, the Best of Becca palete is BEAUTIFUL. I havent really ruined mine yet (it was a valentines gift) but it is utterly useable and stunning.
I wanted to YSL blushes but they are really glossy – glossy blush? I dunno..
Anne says
I have the Hanae Mori perfume too, and I too LOVE it. It is definitely my staple that i’ve had for many years and still love..
*jen says
Girl, you’re going to love Forever Green and Tealo! They’re my favorites…
Dao says
Currently I have nothing on my lust list for makeup. I am in a makeup-overdose state lately, need to take a break from buying! I smelled Hanae Mori before and as Holley said, it is very sweet but the sweetness is nice, not too saccharine like other new fragrances, definitely a good daytime perfume. If you like it, you may also like Yves Rocher Voile D’Ambre. It’s a French company and you can order online. I ordered so many things from them that I reached saturation point about a year ago. It’s really really sad when you get to that state.
Christine says
Pop Stick Blushes are just OK, I wouldn’t pay retail for them!

hey karen if you like mac’s forever green, you’ll love loreal hip’s crayon stick– the green one of course. it doesn’t have the fine tip like mac’s but just as good and the liner has great staying power! let me know if you check it out… cvs is ending their bogo on loreal hip this week (i believe).
Jeanne says
Oooh, I have the Fresh palette! I haven’t played with it yet (story of my life), but I love Fresh’s stuff in general. And I’m also looking forward to getting my hands on the NARS collection — Galapagos looks exactly like what I’ve been wanting lately! I’m not sure on the Neo Sci-Fi — I’m looking forward to Cool Heat.
I’m also looking forward to the new body bronzer collection that MAC’s releasing next week — today is the first day I’m wearing a skirt without tights this spring, and my legs are paaaaale!
beautytalk says
I’ve been lusting over that Becca Palette foreverrr!

oh Karen! I so didn’t need to see that fresh palette-its looks absolutely gorgeous! I wonder how it applies (I’ve only used fresh’s supernova mascara and some lipglosses, but they are great). and I’ve used “body” fresh stuff. and those YSL remind me of some old 80’s lip stuff I had…..drugstore brand, maybelline maybe? something “swirls”. ah good times.
Ok, my wish list
1. fresh sugar baby lipgloss
2. shu lipstick-a peach one, I think 900
3. shu metallic olive eyeshadow
4. shu matte fig green eyeshadow
5. korres mascara in blue-black
6. becca tuberose lip and cheek cream
7. becca daiquiri lip gloss
8. bobbi brown cream eyeshadow in malted
9. ummm-I guess bobbi brown cream eyeshadow in navajo or one of the new clnique long wear lipglosses. 🙂
FUN!!!!
Amanda says
got too excited, hit submit too soon! LOL.
I love the looks of nars misbehave…I think “sheer red” is the new descritpion that calls out to me.
Sherwin is doing good-not entirely sure what happened, but he cut the fleshy part of his paw 2 weekends ago. Ouch! I’ve gone out and looked in the yard and can’t find anything sharp….so hopefully whatever did it on is gone. 🙁 He had to go to the vet emergency room and get stiches, but it hardly phased him. He’s very tough!
Shefali says
Hey Karen! I bought 3 things from the NARS collection and I’m OBSESSED with them: Cyprus and Galapagos eyeshadows and Dolce Vita lip pencil. OMG I’ve worn them everyday this week. The Misbehavin gloss is awesome too…but I had to stay within budget. Thank god everything is going to be permanent!
Susanne says
My makeup lust list:

2. MAC Cool Heat collection b/c of the blue-green e/s 😉
3. MAC MSFs (Glissade, Light Flush)
4. MAC lipglasses!! In all shades and varieties.
5. MAC Dazzleglasses
6. MAC bronzing powder Refined Golden
7. MAC Neo-Sci Fi collection
8. Lancome Color Fever Gloss
Susanne says
and 9. MAC Heatherette collection (BPs, lipppies)
Glosslizard says
I’m looking forward to seeing the Neo-SciFi collection, even though it’s overall waaaay to warm for this girl! I’m interested in the darkest of the eyeshadows, though, that dark brown could be a super liner/crease shade if the finish is right!
BTW, I just bought the Laura Mercier metallic creme eyeshadow in gold and it is gorgeous! It’s a kind of neutralized gold, a bit brown or bronzed or something that makes it very wearable for me, but gives a fantastic, subtle flash! It would look amazing on you too! 🙂
I also have the tealo and, although it migrates more than I was hoping the powerpoints would, it is the perfect teal liner shade and I love it!
I’ve just been so over-indulged for my birthday (many thanks to my fantastic friends and family!) that my wishlist is very small! I’m still after the Chanel lippie in Shanghai Red and the galaxy glossimers!
Glosslizard says
Oh yeah, and the Clinique Sunlit Palm eyeshadow! 🙂
Karen says
Hi KK!
You just said the magic words: Sephora Gift Card! WOOT, girlfriend. Have fun spending it and I can’t wait to hear about your loot.
Happy Friday 🙂
Karen says
Hi Holley,
I will! I am very curious to try it because ever since Guess by Marciano perfume entered my life (was really surprised to like this one so much) I’ve been into richer fragrances. Hope you’re having a good one so far! What’s crackin’ for today?
Karen says
Hi Karen B.,
Don’t they! They look like ice cream, so yummy!
I am always lusting after new mascara too. Which ones are you deciding between.
BTW, I’m going running for the first time today in a week. Eek!
Karen says
Hi Anna,
Aren’t those Nars colors so great? I like prefer the colors in their summer collection way more than the spring.
LOL, so I really like the color orange and it never really hit me that the packaging does look a lil highway worker vest.
Karen says
Hi Rowena,
That’s a fantastic Valentine’s day gift, wow! You’ve got some willpower, girl. I’d tear that up in less than 2.5 seconds.
Hmmm, glossy blush sounds kinda interesting, I agree. Maybe if it was layered underneath something?
Karen says
Hi Anne,
I am now very excited to smell it. You are the second person to give it love so far so I think I’ll like it too! I hope you are having a good Friday so far!
Karen says
Hi Jen,
Hey girl, seriously, I’m stockpiling the green liner… and I can’t stop! Is it really waterproof? I can’t wait to try it. 🙂
Karen says
Hi Dao,
I love French products so I think I will Yves Rocher!
Makeup breaks are always good for the wallet and the soul. In a few I’m sure you’ll find something that excites you! For me I am kinda OD on skin stuff. But makeup… I dunno if I could get to that state (too obsessed, LOL).
Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Karen says
Hi Christine,
Aww, you didn’t like ’em? But they look so edible!
Karen says
Hi Kia,
Hmm, I think I have that one! Is it the one that looks like a piece of chalk? Have you tried using it wet? So pretty! And you know I’m all over the bogo…
Happy Friday!
Karen says
Hi Jeanne,
I want both that palette and the “Here Comes the Sun” one. I’ve been wanted it for years now but just haven’t gotten around to picking it up.
I am in your same boat! My thighs are looking quite scary! 🙂
Karen says
Hi BeautyTalk,
Okay! If you find it you better 1.) snag it for yourself and 2.) tell me so I can get my hands on it too! 🙂
Karen says
Hi Amanda,
I think I remember the 80s stuff you’re talkin’ about… maybe it was Cover Girl? Hmm!
LOL, I remembered something the other day from the 80s that made me laugh: Debbie Gibson’s Electric Youth perfume. I really wanted a bottle when I was 13.
I think I want fig green eyeshadow, too. I will have to steal that from your list.
Poor Sherwin’s paw! He sounds like a tough guy and I’m glad he’s feeling better. Give him a hug for me!
Karen says
Hi Shefali,
Pretty! Misbehavin seems really beautiful. I can see myself getting obsessed with it too, and will have to pick up bits and pieces in parts! I heart Dolce Vita too!
Karen says
Hi Susanne,
Girl, I know you’ve got a MAC fetish! 😉 Would you believe I own no MSF? I KNOW!
I hope you are having so much fun with your Heatherette stuff. I took my trio out the other day (just to stare at it, LOL! yes, I’m weird) and I was wondering if you were liking your stuff.
Hope things are well on your end. How’s your day been?
Karen says
Hi Glosslizard,
OH! Now I will totally have to check out that LM shadow. That’s the one in the tube, right? I am so trying hard to be good with the makeup because I really have to rectify the pants situation ASAP (or at the minimum, get a new belt, CRAP) but all the cream shadows have this siren call that I can’t deny!
Have you tried the Technakohl’s? Those are still my fave MAC liners and are right up there with Fluidline!
You could pull of that deep brown e/s from Neo Sci Fi, for sure. I can’t *wait* to see it all!
kia says
hey karen,
it’s not that one. i haven’t had much luck with those. it’s the twist up, mechanical pencil type but the product itself has a thicker tip (sorry no fine lines).
margaret says
Im going to coachella this weekend and need sweatproof makeup!
any suggestions?
Elyse says
My lust list consists of
1. Clinique Long Last Glosswear SPF 15
(sounds like the perfect lip product for summer)
2. Clinique Up-lighting Liquid Illuminator
(reminds me of Revlon’s dc’d skinlights that I sadly missed out on)
3. Benefit 10
(who doesn’t want sculpted cheekbones? okay, I’m in for the cute box)
4. Benefit Hoola
(bronzer, contour, and a cute box to boot)
5. Benefit Her Glossiness
(that lychee scent is just pulling me in)
6. Philosophy Breakfast in Bed
(the scents are just divine!)
Okay, so the last one isn’t exactly makeup, but it’s sold at a makeup store, so that has to count for something, right?
Karen B says
Wohooooo! How did the running go?
I don’t know which kind yet. Maybe Chanel Inimitable or another Max Factor Masterpiece on like I have now.
For bronzer I’m thinking Stila.

Ooh Karen… you know I love your lists!
My lust list…and you know I’ve got one due to the self-imposed makeup lockdown!
1 – Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia. When I first heard the name and saw it I expressed no interest because I thought…hmmm probably old lady (I know I know… I’m still getting over my estee lauder prejudices). Then I smelled it at bloomies…and I believe I may have fallen in love. I’ve visited once since. I would describe it at simply elegant. Very pretty. Very Ladies who lunch, but without the pretensiousness. Seriously though, the parfum is $300, and the eau de parfum is $120…although the EL website has a smaller bottle for $65…so I may have to bite the bullet soon.
2 – Bumble and Bumble Spray de mode – I’m almost out of hairspray and I want to give this one a try.
3 – Clinique lash power mascara…because I need to get vacation (Beach) ready makeup.
4 – Clinique quick eyes cream shadow – Sunlit Palm, Lucky Penny and Cocoa Shimmer are catching my eye.
5 – Clinique long last glosswear – Knockout nude and Bonfire are my top picks on this one.
6 – Not makeup, but beauty, I would like a no!no! because I hate shaving, even if I’m not uber-hairy…and any reduction would be apprectiated.
7 – Too faced shadow insurance
8 – The Chanel Lumière Naturelle palette
9 – Clarins Gelee Auto-Bronzante Express Self Tanning Instant Gel – Because I need to get rid of this pasty white girl look 🙂
Susanne says
Thanks, Karen. I was on a class trip with my students for five days and came back today. It was a great week, but now I am tired 😉
LOL, you are not weird – I also love to take my MAC stuff out and stare at it! I love my Heatherette stuff, especially the BPs and the pink lippies, Hollywood Nights and Style Minx! And the packaging is awesome, also of the Eye Trio. It was worth to buy it only b/c of the packaging, I think.
Karen says
Hi Kia,
Hmm…okay, I can deal with the no fine lines thing as long as I can get it smudgy! 😉
Karen says
Hi Elyse,
I am in full support of your item on the list – the Glosswears are frickin’ *amazing*!
I am a huge Philosophy fan so I will have to smell “Breakfast in Bed” asap! Hopefully they’ll have it at Macy’s or Nordies.
Happy Friday!
Karen says
Hi Karen B.,
It was hard but satisfying. It was windy today, which means when I’m on the last leg of my run I have to run against the wind (pooh)! But I guess it’s better than sitting on my bum and eating Cheetoes, which honestly, is what I really wanna do.
So many people love that Chanel mascara! I dunno…maybe I just haven’t seen the light?
Have you heard of Nars Laguna? It’s one of those cult fave bronzers. A makeup artist used it on my once and I really didn’t notice a difference, but many women really love it.
Karen says
Hi Megan,
Girl, get that Tuberose Gardenia already. LOL! You know it’s calling you! The $65 sounds actually kinda reasonable when compared to the $300 bottle (call me crazy).
I am lusting hard after the Chanel Lumiere Naturelle palette, too! 🙂
Any exciting plans for the weekend?
Karen says
Hi Susanne,
Field trips! I remember really loving those when I was a student. I’m glad that you and your students enjoyed it…but hooray for the weekend so you can relax (and play with makeup).
I am glad I am not the only one who admires their makeup stash. 🙂 After reading your comment I took out Pink Pearl and oohed and ahhed a little, LOL.
Are you feeling any of the upcoming MAC releases? I am crushing hard on the lipsticks from Naughty Nauticals and *everything* from Neo Sci Fi.
Karen says
Hi Margaret,
How fun! I vaguely remember reading that Prince is going to be there! I am still kicking myself for not going the year Madonna performed.
For sweatproof, for sure bring some mascara. I am liking Shu Uemura Precise Volume waterproof. Dior concealer is fab too – I wear this when I to go dance class (where I sweat buckets) and I swear it doesn’t budge. I usually don’t like to wear foundation when I know I’m gonna be sweaty, but I’ve noticed Becca stick foundation has *amazing* staying power.
Hope this helps…lemme know if I can help with anything else! 🙂 Happy Friday!
Megan says
Nothing too exciting… I think the past few weekends have been too exciting. I have to clean my room and do some laundry before i lose my mind. The weather is supposed to be crappy and rainy here anyway. I may hit the movies. I’m thinking about seeing “Baby Mama” or “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” Something fun and not too thought provokine 🙂
Karen says
I know the feeling of having to clean before going nuts! Forgetting Sarah Marshall is pretty funny… be prepared for lots of unnecessary shots of man meat! Have fun and eat some popcorn from me. 🙂
Glosslizard says
Hi Karen!
Yah, the LM in the little tube! Super-pretty!
I’m looking forward to Neo Sci-Fi, but Cool Heat is the collection I really want to see! I was over checking out the Dazzleglasses today (a little too sparkly, I’ll stick with my Chanel 😉 ) and was lucky enough to catch a glimpse of Naughty Nauticals! Not the most exciting collection IMO, but the Meet the Fleet shadow is gorgeous! I was initially disappointed because it’s a matte finish (my least favorite of all shadow finishes), but after seeing it I may cave anyway! It’s an inky indigo that would be the most amazing liner shade! Definitely worth checking out!
Technakohl is the next liner on my list to check out… if I can wean myself away from those Shu drawing pencils!
Karen B says
I’m very proud of you 😉 Somehow when I go running at Ghent my last bit is also always against the wind. Don’t know how I do it… lol
I don’t know about the Chanel mascara. It’s been recommended to me by people… Any suggestions on your part?
I haven’t heard of Nars Laguna. But apparently Benefit has some good ones too.

Glosslizard says
Hi Karen B!
Forgive me if I chime in, but my two cents are that the Chanel mascara (as much as I love all things Chanel) isn’t worth the extra bucks. The exception is if you’re craving some of the more hard-to-find colors (Hello, Emeraude!), but for a plain ol’ black mascara there are a lot that I like better! My go-to is Max Factor’s Lash Perfection and for extra oomph I like Tarte’s Lights, Camera, Lashes! They do have the little mascara wands at the Chanel counter (at least at Nordstrom and Neiman Marcus they do), though, so if you can stand to go bare-lashed you can try it for yourself before you take the plunge! Good luck! 🙂
