Hey everyone!
So, if there’s one thing I’ve mentioned before, it’s how much I like convenient products. If there’s anything complicated involved, I won’t be interested in using or doing it for long.
This has probably been a driving force behind why I keep my makeup routine so simple.
“Simple” and “convenient” are two perfect words to describe Clinique’s Chubby In The Nude Foundation Sticks ($24 each, available in 10 shades), with their cream-to-powder finish and buildable sheer-to-medium coverage (they’re part of the amazing Chubby stick line).
They’re even easier to blend when you use a sponge or a damp brush, which I realized this past weekend while visiting my boyfriend’s parents. I didn’t bring the right brush with me, so I had to use my fingers.
The Clinique website recommends applying them like this:
- Draw several strokes of foundation across the forehead, cheeks, chin and down the bridge of nose.
- For sheerer coverage, fingertip-blend to a seamless finish.
- For moderate coverage, use Clinique’s Buff Brush to buff foundation into skin using light, circular motions.
Applying with my fingers was a little frustrating, mostly because of how sensitive my skin is. I mean, the Chubby stick slogan is the #ChubbyDoodle, which stands for all the different ways you can draw your foundation on for different coverage, and I like the concept, but rubbing the foundation into my skin with my fingers was…less fun.
Here I’m wearing Voluptuous Vanilla, which falls into the “moderately fair” category. Incidentally, I also like the suggestive names (like Curviest Clove and Abundant Alabaster) and the particular way Clinique grouped these from very fair to deep.
Bountiful Beige proved to be a little too dark for me, as it falls into the “medium” category… I think I might be able to use it to practice my contouring skills, though!
I do love the finish these have because they create just enough glow that you can build on with other products, and they ended up being super convenient on my trip as well. The sticks easily fit in my makeup bag and take up very little space.
Oh, in these pics I’m also wearing Essence Gel Eyeliner in Midnight in Paris, ELF smudgepot in Ain’t That Sweet and Make Up For Ever Smoky Extravagant Mascara.
What’s your favorite stick foundation, or do you stick (haha) to liquid and powder formulas?

I’m normally die hard for a satin finish liquid foundation, but these do look interesting, and pretty convenient too. Maybe I’ll give them a swatch in store! How did you find the wear-time on these?

I definitely want to try these, just to see how I like them! Always up for trying new things… 🙂 I definitely like the idea of traveling with a stick formula as it doesn’t count as a liquid.

I wonder if the lightest shade will work for me. I usually can’t find a match in their foundations.

I have never tried a stick foundation, but would love to. I love everything else from the Chubby Stick range.

I have 1 foundation stick and was actually going to purchase cliniques chubby in the nude as a contour. The foundation stick I currently have that I’m not sure if they sell anymore is the shiseido one in o60, and I love it when I’m a lot tanner. So essentially I don’t use this often enough compared to my tinted moisturizer or even powder foundation by tarte’s.If it’s blend able I may think about purchasing a darker shade for a contour option.
