A Classic Neutral Makeup Tutorial With Cool-Toned Eyes and Nude Lips

Published in: Eyes, Makeup Tips/How To, Video

I’ve been wanting to do a tutorial for this look forever! It’s one of my fallbacks when I don’t want to think too hard…which is, like, all the time. Often. :) It’s a timeless classic eye with some cool-toned eyeshadows, and some neutral eyeshadows, and I usually pair it with peachy pink cheeks and nude lips (and sometimes false lashes).

There’s a bit to it, so it’s not a 5-minute look by any means, but it’s not too far out there either. It’ll get easier the more you do it.

Published in: Just For Fun, Tabs, Video

When I got this gig working for Tabs as his professional pet assistant/kitty modeling agent, I had no idea of the adventures before me.

I thought I was just hanging out with a cat. How could I have known he would turn into such a powerhouse in the feline fashion and modeling industries. :)

Here’s the brief video story of how this all came to pass.

March Instagram Skin Care Faves From Bliss and GlamGlow

Published in: Bliss, Product Reviews, Skin Care, Video

Have you gotten into Instagram yet (here’s me)? GOLD MINE for cat pics and videos, among other things.

A couple Friday nights ago I was being a homebody with some new skin care products from Bliss and GlamGlow and shared a pic…

Now this is what I call a GOOD TIME!

Back to Instagram, I think I like it so much because there’s no pressure, camera-wise, because you take the pictures with your phone. There’s no elaborate setups or having to mess with manual modes or checking your f-stops or ISO levels, and you have this one creative space that you can fill with anything you like.

It’s great for inspiration, like with makeup and hair, because you can follow artists and other people you like and see their work, even if they’re doing looks you could never imagine yourself wearing. It’s just a really easy way to get lots of visual food for your brain in one space.

Anywho, I first heard about GlamGlow, ironically, at a Bliss Spa, where the spa technician who gave me a facial was like, “This is the next big thing. You’re gonna love this mask. All of your girlfriends will be talking about it,” and she was so right. I definitely feel like when I use a GlamGlow mask, something is happening.

In this video I talk about a few of the Bliss and GlamGlow skin care products I’ve been using and loving. :)

Have you found any change-your-life skin care products lately? How about Bliss and GlamGlow? Do you have any faves?

Ask MBB: Makeup Tools of the Trade for Natural-Looking Contouring and Definition

Published in: Face, MAC Makeup, Makeup, Makeup Tips/How To, Video

I usually like to wear a little MAC Give Me Sun Mineralize Skinfinish or Guerlain Terra Nerolia Bronzer — just to add some warmth to my skin after applying foundation — and to get a very soft, natural contour.

Here’s what I typically do to contour in this video at the 10:21 mark…

I like that way just fine, but lately I’ve been wanting to try something different — a more defined, contoured look that’s a bit more sculpted, but not scary.

In this episode of Ask MBB, MAC Senior Artist Victor Cembellin weighs in with a few products and tools to get a sculpted, contoured effect that still looks natural.

Products mentioned…

Eek, I am all over that angled brush! It’s at the top of my mile-long MAC wish list.
