Fo’ reals, it’s physically impossible to take pictures of yourself wearing purple and gold striped eyeshadow without making a cra-zaaay face!
I was feeling adventurous yesterday, so I decided to try another potential Halloween look, this one inspired by this face chart from Urban Decay.
All of the makeup for my lips and eyes is from UD, namely the 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils in Eldorado (from the Super Stash kit) and Ransom, Heavy Metal Glitter Liner in Midnight Cowboy, Deluxe Eyeshadows in Frigid and Freakshow, Skyscraper Mascara, 24-7 Glide-On Lip Pencil in Wallflower and Lipstick in Naked.
On my cheeks I’m wearing Benefit Dallas blush…

Bobbi Brown’s new Chrome Palette for lips and eyes costs a pretty penny at $75 (yikes), but, hey, at least BB & Co stuffed a *lot* into this limited-edition cutie.

Chrome packs a whopping ten eyeshadows in shades of shimmery and matte gray, taupe, mauve, white and black.

Top row: White, Polar Ice, Storm Cloud, Iron, Thunder; Bottom row: Moonlight, Cyber Grey, Foil, Chrome, Charcoal Haze
Also up in the mix: four large pans of lipgloss in neutral colors and two mini brushes. A sleek, minimalist chrome case keeps everything warm and safe at night. ![]()

This holiday season I’m getting my dose of classic holiday color from Estee Lauder’s new Ultimate Red collection.

Doesn’t the packaging look rich and luxurious? A traditional holiday release in the spirit of cashmere turtlenecks and chestnuts roasted on an open fire?
Here are pictures of most of the 13-piece collection for lips, eyes, face and nails. They’re all limited edition, which makes sense considering the season.
Take a peek, and let me know what you think.

Man, oh, man! There’s just so much I love about L’Oreal’s Extra-Volume Collagen Mascara ($5). Two coats transform my eyelashes from toy car to monster truck, and at just five bones, it’s also pretty cheap.

After two coats, WOWZA!!

L’Oreal HIP High Intensity Pigments Chrome Eyeliner from bottom to top: Violet Volt, Black Shock, Silver Lightning, Gold Charge
Hey there, my discount lovin’ beauties.
How do you feel about Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils?
I’m a fan. I think they’re fabulously buttery and love how long they wear.
They remind me of L’Oreal’s new HIP High Intensity Pigments Chrome Eyeliners ($10 per pencil, available in four shades).
I adore how long they last. They take about a minute to dry but then stay put for most of the day vibrant, rich color, especially when worn along my lashlines.
Unfortch, the waterlines are a different story, where all four pencil colors made my eyes teary, and their colors began to fade rather quickly (within a few minutes).
Even so, I like ‘em for the price, especially if you don’t wear eyeliner along the waterline.

Swatches from left to right: Violet Volt, Black Shock, Silver Lightning, Gold Charge
