I have this theory that everyone at some point in time goes through a big ol’ bold brow phase, where all you want in life is OTT BROWS BROWS BROWS for days.
Mine happened circa 2014-2015, and when they happen, you gotta get them out of your system, like dating bad boys or wanting a pony or getting food poisoning. You just have to let it pass through you.
If you happen to be going through that era of your makeup journey right now, Benefit has three new brow kits you might like.
The Benefit Foolproof Brow Powder kits come in 1 Light, 3 Medium and 5 Deep. Each one has two shades — a lighter shade for the inner part of your brow and a darker shade for the outer tail — to get that bold ombre brow effect. They’re $24 each and available on counters right meow.
The kits come with an applicator with a pointy blending sponge on one end and a spoolie on the other. The powders are super soft, and the sponge picks up plenty of product, so you can get lots of all-day-long-lasting color up in your brows in less than a minute.
One of my brow powder pet peeves is when I can see dark dots of brow powder settling into the pores in the sparse spots in my brows, but that doesn’t happen when I use Foolproof.
When things start to go awry (it happens), and your brows get too bold, all you have to do is grab a clear brow gel. Benefit has one, and it’s the best one out there IMO (even better than the famed Anastasia brow gel). Just run that back and forth through your brows a few times to turn down the intensity, wait for it to dry, then fill in any remaining sparse spots.

Karen

So happy ☺ to see your review. I just bought this and tomorrow is the big day. Can’t wait to try it. Thanks.

Hi Jan,
How did it go?

The packaging looks amazing but I’m not sure how I’ll use that applicator x

I’ve used it and it’s OK if you want bold brows.

I think this still looks natural on you. Not like magic marker Instagram eyebrows (which I am not down on, at all, and think some people look fab with them). I still feel like a pencil is easiest for me because I can never quite get the powder right.

Haha, I went through a Magic Marker brows phase too! Man that was rough. Pencil is my all-time fave. Which one are you using these days? The Benefit one is really good!

I’m using the Anastasia pencil (not brow wiz) that you have to sharpen. I prefer that to the twist-up styles. I just feel like the twist ups are too waxy for me. And the spoolie is still intact on this pencil. Much unlike with the Brow Wiz, where it snapped off after about a month on the last two I bought.
I haven’t tried the Benefit pencil yet. I’ll have to check it out. I have tried their ka-BROW which was not a good look for me. I don’t blame the product, though. It’s most likely user error. HAHA!

I like how cool toned the light one is. Usually when brow stuff gets lighter it also gets warmer. How well do these stay put? Or do they need a clear gel on top? I hate when my brows fade or run.
I tried the new Chanel waterproof brow pencil. It really stays put almost to the point of being difficult to remove at the end of the day, but they’re light colors run rather orangey warm in undertone.

I might pick this one up. I love how it shows placement of the powders! I’m still trying to finish my old Brow Zings eye brow product from Benefit which I like a lot.But I feel like I often don’t have the powders and wax in the right order so this guide would come in handy!

I saw these today when I was in Ulta- I’m still kicking myself for not grabbing one!

I love how natural this looks on you! Was this brow powder easy to use? About how long did it last for you? I currently use the brow wiz pencil but I’ve always wondered about using a powder instead and LOVE benefit products.
