Basically, BECCA’s been winning at life lately. I like everything they’d done lately, especially their complexion products over the past couple of months — the Chrissy Teigen Palette, the Sunchaser Palette and now the new $38 Sunlit Bronzers.
They’ve totally set the bar higher for glamorous yet natural-looking face makeup.
Yeah, not that I need another bronzer in my life, but these Sunlit Bronzers freakin’ slay. They’re available now online at Sephora, the BECCA website, and they recently showed up at Sephora stores, too.
There are five shades, and all of them, except for Maui Nights, the bronzer for deep skin tones, have neutral golden undertones, rather than warm orange or rosy gold undertones (Maui Nights is more reddish), and I think that’s the main reason why they look so much like a real tan.
Bali Sands — Inspired by warm, glistening Balinese beaches (ah…), this subtle golden beige/bronze will give all-over warmth to fair skin tones.
Capri Coast — This warm golden brown achieves perfect sun-kissed radiance on light and medium skin tones.
Bronzed Bondi — This medium amber for medium skin tones will make you look like you just spent a dreamy day at the beach.
Ipanema Sun — This medium auburn brown is inspired by the sun-drenched shores of Ipanema and gives medium and darker skin tones a healthy, golden glow.
Maui Nights — Perfect for deep skin tones, this ultra-rich, sienna-kissed bronze evokes the rich, warm glow of mesmerizing Maui.

When you roll up to the display (ideally without a basket, girl!!!), take a finger and glide it across the pan so you can feel and experience the magic in person.
Are they powders?? Are they creams?? Technically, these are powder bronzers, but they feel almost wet, right? That’s the special sauce with BECCA powders and these bronzers. They’re crazy creamy.
If the swatch on your arm looks shiny, don’t worry. Once that bronzer is on your cheeks and you start working and blending it in, it’ll look more like a satin that wants to become a matte — or, like a matte that dreams of being a satin but can’t quite decide if it should go all in.
I love ’em all, even the lighter ones (Bali Sands and Capri Coast) that don’t really bronze my tan self. But I use them as eyeshadows.
Ingredients in the Capri Coast shade
Talc, Mica, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Petrolatum, Silica, Boron Nitride, Nylon-12, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Isostearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Cera Microcristallina (Microcrystalline Wax/Cire Microcristalline), Paraffin, Polyethylene, Magnesium Stearate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Synthetic Fluorphlogopite, Triethoxycaprylylsilane, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Polyethylene Terephthalate, Acrylates Copolymer, Chlorphenesin, Potassium Sorbate, Tetrasodium EDTA, Tin Oxide. May Contain: CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491/77492/77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77742 (Manganese Violet), CI 75470 (Carmine)
Actually, all of these bronzers double as shadows, which is an idea I got from the bronzer in the Chrissy Teigen palette. Try Maui Sands with MAC Costa Riche as a base. SO GOOD! Or Bronzed Bondi (ohmigawd!), buffed on top of black smudgy liner. Spirit fingers and magic all the way. 🙂
Your friendly neighborhood beauty addict,

P.S. I’m having a hard a hard time processing Chris Cornell’s passing. I’ve been on the verge of tears a few times. I’ve been listening to my favorite song of his, Preaching The End of the World, a lot today.
I listened to his music throughout college and all through my 20s, and it reminds of that time in my life. Fifty-two is so young, you know?At one point, it seemed far away, but when you’re in your 40s and you see someone passing away in their 50s…oh, my gosh, you still have a lot of life to live after that. 🙁

I’m glad they included some options for fair skintones! Becca products are so beautiful but I’m pale and most of their products are too warm for me. I might have to check out Bali Sands!
Karen says
Hi Kristen,
I hope Bali Sands works for you. I think it’s a beautiful color.
Happy Friday! What are you up to this weekend?
Kristen says
Happy Friday to you too! Tonight I’m having a wine and movie night with some of my girlfriends and then I need to go shopping to find some outfits for my bachelorette party next weekend!

I am a fan of these. You hit the nail right on the head when you said glamorous yet natural-looking face makeup.
Karen says
Yes! BECCA is so good at that. Happy Friday!
Eleni says
Yup, loving my one too (Bronzed Bondi). There are some great bronzers out there right now, love having so many options 🙂
Karen says
Love that shade!

I listened to Chris Cornell thoughout college and my 20’s as well. Terrible news — my family also went through a suicide and blind-sides you in ways you didn’t know existed. Very very sad news.
As for the Becca Bronzers, I bought Maui Nights (I’m an NC30/35) and I absolutely love the red tones in this one.
Lupe says
They look so natural! I may need to pick up Bronzed Bondi.

Sad news about Chris, for sure. 🙁
Don’t think I’m a complete dodo but can you also use bronzer all over your face, or for contouring? I know you can technically use anything, any way you want. But, I mean, generally accepted use. 🙂

The only thing I tried from Becca is one of their poured highlighters, and OMG, it is so pretty, even for a highlighter ignorant like me. The bronzers look amazing too, but I really rarely reach for them.

I’ve been struggling with his passing too but moreso because my neighbor/friend for the last 3 years ended his life two weeks ago. 52 is too young!
I’m not sure the bronzers would work for me at all! I’m so pale I need something peach/red but very light in tone with a hint of bronze.
Alexis says
I’m not much older than you and I was also really into all those Seattle bands in the early 90’s. I’m still sad to hear about Chris Cornell’s tragic passing.
Okay on to bronzers, sorry for the lack of a better segue, I really want Ipanema Sun and Bronzed Bondi. I am very curious about Chrissy Teigen’s palette. I’m glad to know that the colors will work well with my NC44 skin tone!

I’ve been drooling over Bali Sands since it came out! I think I’m going to have to go for it. The finish just looks so lovely, and I really only have one or two bronzers I use on a regular basis. It’s nice to see a brand recognize that bronzers are FAR from one-size-fits-all.
