Earlier today I went to downtown San Rafael to grab lunch. Kids were trick or treating at the stores on Fourth Street. It blows my mind that kids trick or treat at malls in the middle of the day; all my Halloween memories are of trick or treating with my dad at night around our neighborhood.
Boo! I like these ghosts. They’re friendly, unlike the one from Paranormal Activity.
We’ve been put on notice tonight — theNotice, that is. The delightful Rae of theNotice blog shares one of her favorite drugstore beauty products, the EcoTools Cleansing Sponge.

When Karen asked if I would do a guest post for Makeup and Beauty Blog, I didn’t know where to start (I rarely do). I asked her for direction, and she suggested drugstore beauty.

“Hm!” I thought. “I’ll have so much to talk about!”

But I thought. And I thought. And I blew the house down.

Well, no, not really. But I did come to realize that less of my makeup stash comes from drugstores than I previously thought.

But this is actually great news for you (no, really, it is). It basically means that if I’ve kept a drugstore item, it’s a darned good one.

Ah, the joys of being easily amused…
I’ve been scarfing down candy and singing a Halloween version of Joan Jett’s I Love Rock ‘n Roll while I do some chores around the house, but in my version the song goes, “I love candy corn!” 
I love candy corn;
Put another dime in the jukebox, baby.
I love candy corn;
So come and take your time and dance with me!
Philosophy’s I Love Candy Corn Shower and Bath Gel put the idea in my head.
It smells exactly like (yup, you guessed it) candy corn. 🙂

Happy Halloween, ghouls! 
Are you stoked about tonight?
I know it’s mostly for the kids, but I feel like a kid on Halloween (which works out well) — and not just because of the candy (Mmm… Snickers) or the spooky-yet-harmless sense of danger, either. I support any day in which it’s socially acceptable to wear sequins, feathers, a tail and/or a headdress to the grocery store. 🙂
I’m still not sure about my plans tonight (Tabs was invited to a costume party), but I got some Halloween candy for trick or treaters just in case.
Right now I’m surfing the interwebz and just chillin’ here at my desk with my morning coffee. The fog must have rolled in last night because it’s very Sleepy Hollow outside…
I can’t remember the last time I carved a pumpkin…

Halloween is but a few hours away, and I’ve been watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer reruns to get fired up!
I’m a huge fan of the show and have been for years… Love all of the characters, but a favorite’s Willow the witch (Buffy’s BFF), played by actress Alyson Hannigan.
Alyson Lee Hannigan (born March 24, 1974) was 23 in 1997 when the pagan stars aligned and she landed a job on the show. Even though she appeared in several commercials and even a feature film (My Stepmother is an Alien, LOL!) before Buffy, it was her portrayal of Willow that made her a star.
This one time, at band camp… Fans may remember Alyson as the nerdy flute-playing vixen from 1999’s American Pie or recognize her from How I Met Your Mother (in season 5 now on CBS).
Buffy also played a fateful part in Alyson’s personal life. She and actor Alexis Denisof (who played the bumbling Wesley Wyndham-Price) married in 2003 and just welcomed their daughter, Satyana, on Alyson’s 35th birthday.
I’ll always have a soft spot for her red hair from the Buffy years, but I think she looks great as a brunette, too.
