Daily Makeover Will Pay You to Take Surveys

Daily Makeover Beauty Board

Daily Makeover wants to know your makeup and beauty buying habits, and they’re willing to pay you for your time.

How much are we talkin’?

What about $5 just for registering and answering a 29-question survey? It took me about 7 minutes from start to finish, with questions like, “Which of these best describes your hair type?” Answers: 1) Oily, 2) Normal or 3) Dry.

NOTE: In the comments, some of you said that you were asked more questions than I was (I had 29), so it looks like the number of questions varies based upon your answers along the way.

New surveys will appear from time to time (I’m not sure how often, but I’ll let you know when I find out), so check the site on a regular basis. Each survey you answer will earn you more cash.

For every $25 earned, you can elect to receive your cash securely through Paypal or redeem it for gift cards from Amazon or Nike — or even have your earnings donated to charity. :)

Hiya, my ’round the way girls,

Did you have a good weekend? As usual, mine went by way too quickly, but I managed to sneak in a few fun things, like a visit to Sausalito (a pretty, touristy town in southern Marin), a movie (The Perfect Getaway … come to mama Josh Duhamel!) and discovering a fab new hair product.

I’ve been desperate for something to revive my mane, which has been looking scragglier than post-Britney K-Fed. To get it to behave, I’ve been overdosing on heat styling — abusing it with the hair dryer, flat iron *and* curling iron. Terrible, I know. Now, my long locks look and feel coarse, dull and dry.

So, when I heard about Kerastase’s new Chroma Thermique ($36), I went haaaay!

Some quick background: Chroma Thermique is the newest member of the Chroma Riche line, designed by Kerastase to add softness, moisture and shine to dull, dry colored hair. Wrapped up in purty pink bottles, these floral-scented shampoos, conditioners and treatments cost a pretty penny, ranging from $32-58 (ouch).

Chroma Thermique, the newest member of the gang, is a rich leave-in treatment that adds moisture, shields hair from heat and infuses it with protective UV filters. Kerastase recommends working a walnut-sized dollop from shaft to ends after shampooing/conditioning and before blow drying.

First off, it’s a fantastic de-tangler. All my knots disappeared (and I *always* have plenty to spare), allowing my brush to slip through quite easily. The extra slip seemed to decrease the time and effort it usually takes to blow dry, which this busy girl totes appreciates.

Makeup and Beauty Blog Monday Poll, Aug. 31

August 31st, 2009 | Karen | Filed in: Just For Fun

083109-monday-poll

  1. Mood:
  2. Hella hungry! I’ve been up since six and have yet to eat breakfast. Otherwise, just peachy.

  3. Do you believe in love at first sight?
  4. Lust at first sight, yes, but love, no. I think love comes after you discover things like his unlawfully long toenails and penchant for Celine Dion power ballads — and yet, you still think he’s tops.

  5. How long does it take for you to get ready in the morning?
  6. If I can mosey along and take my sweet ol’ time, up to two hours. Most days, though, I finish in 30 minutes.

  7. Guys who wear capri pants — hawt or not?
  8. Please don’t make me stare at hairy man cankles, thanks.

  9. Eyes/lips/cheeks:
  10. After reading about MAC and Mad Men this morning I felt compelled to bust out a ’60s-inspired look. Eyes: a black cat eye with LORAC Front of the liner Pro and tons of Chanel Exceptionnel Mascara. Lips: MAC Lipstick in Cockney from the Euristocrats 2 collection. Cheeks: Lancome Color Design Blush in Petticoat Pink.

  11. Have you ever gone out with someone you met online?
  12. Back when Craigslist was in its infancy (hello, totally dating myself) and not yet brimming with scary pervs, I went on dates with a few nice guys. No serious relationships, though.

  13. How many letters are there in your entire name?
  14. 30. Signing my name’s almost like writing a dissertation (almost).

  15. The last thing that made you laugh?
  16. Tabs acting like a crazy kitty last night. He kept circling the apartment at full speed and then going in for crash landings into his new kitty condo. Too funny!

  17. Outfit:
  18. I need to do laundry something desperate. Today I’m rocking what I like to describe as the “hobo-chic” look — barely clean dark jeans, a wrinkly gray tank top and a pink zip-up sweater.

  19. Weekly goals:
  20. Log in at least 10 hours of reading (I’m on a mission to reduce the hours I spend watching crappy reality TV … so hard!), go running at least twice, eliminate at least one pile of clutter surrounding my desk every day, and avoid procrastination.

‘Sup, ladies. I’m running a little behind today, but better late than never, right?

Before your boss asks you to complete yet another asinine task that makes you roll your eyes in the privacy of your cubicle (LOL, totally guilty of this), take a second to share what’s new by filling out the Monday Poll. Grab the list below, pop in your answers, and share in the comments. :)

Stay golden, ponygirls!
